We'll post the link here. History. DUNSCORE, a parish, in the county of Dumfries, 9 miles (N. W.) from Dumfries containing the village of Cottack. This place is not remarkable for any events of historical importance, but it was formerly the seat of some families of considerable antiquity.
The church, standing in the village of Cottack, in the centre of the parish, is a well-built structure, surmounted with an elegant square tower at the west. Dunscore (['dʌnskə] / 'DUN-skuh', less commonly ['dunskɔ:] / 'DUN-score') is a small village which lies 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Dumfries on the B, in Dumfriesshire, in the District Council Region of Dumfries and Galloway, southwest Scotland.
The village consists of about people, has a community run pub, a post office and a tea room. The village hosts a gala event every l area: Dumfries and Galloway. A new book about the life of a Second World War Christian martyr whose story inspired a film made by Braes High pupils reveals her pivotal role in helping “many” Jews to escape certain g: Dunscore.
Her inspirational story is being used in Hungary by a group which is working in the field of reconciliation between the Jewish community and the Church and secular communities, at a time when Europe is seeing a rise in the popularity of right wing nationalist parties and associated anti-Semitism.
